Updates on National Enforcement Strategies at WIPO’s ACE

WIPO’s Advisory Committee on Enforcement (ACE) met on September 2-4, 2019. On the agenda were several important updates about enforcement strategies adopted by WIPO Member States.
IPA Responds to Brazilian Copyright Consultation

Brazil’s State Secretariat for Culture held a public consultation to assess the need to review the Brazilian Copyright Act 1998. The consultation, which closed on September 15, 2019, aimed at establishing priorities among options such as modernizing copyright for the digital era, regulating collective management and adopting WIPO’s Internet Treaties.

The third and final World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) regional seminar took place on 4-5 July. IPA President, Hugo Setzer and Secretary General José Borghino led a strong team of publishers from the Latin American and Caribbean regions.
