Library regeneration in Nairobi

The first round of funding in IPA’s Africa Publishing Innovation Fund, backed by Dubai Cares, included support for Book Bunk, the regeneration project of the Macmillan Library and 2 in Nairobi, Kenya. The two co-founders, Wanjiru Koinange and Angela Wachuka, spoke recently to CC’s Beyond the Book.
French publishers working to make new releases accessible

The French Publishers Association (SNE) initiative “La rentrée littéraire pour tous » successfully saw 82 publishers make 425 titles available in accessible format upon their release in partnership with the French National Library (BNF) and the National Book Centre (CNL).

Geneva and The Hague — The world bodies speaking for the publishing and library sectors, the IPA and IFLA, today pledge to find mechanisms for universal access to information, and to help national and international authorities to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals linked to literacy, education and reading.
