IPA Slams Vatican for Attempting to Silence Critics

The International Publishers Association (IPA) has joined the Italian Publishers Association (AIE) and European journalism and freedom-of-speech watchdogs to condemn the Vatican for attempting to jail two authors who alleged corruption and financial wrongdoing in the highest circles of the Holy See.

IPA condemns Turkish Government’s attacks on independent media.

The International Publishers Association is alarmed at reports that the Turkish Government is shutting down and seizing the independent and critical media outlets of the Koza-IPek Media Group, including Kanaltürk and Bugün TV, ahead of the forthcoming general election in that country.

The 31st International Publishers Congress has announced that Arnaud Nourry and Alaa Al Aswany will be keynote speakers at the 31st Congress in London in April 2016.

The Congress, which runs from 9-12 April 2016, will take place in London for the second time. It is organised by the International Publishers Association in partnership with the UK Publishers Association and The London Book Fair. The conference promises debate, analysis and networking at the most senior level across a comprehensive programme curated to address the key policy and practical issues of the day.
