With a focus on the sustainable development of publishing in Africa, the IPA held its first ever African Regional Seminar in Lagos, Nigeria on 9 May. With speakers and guests from across the continent, the seminar was a huge success.

Taking place in Lagos, Nigeria on 9 May 2018, this IPA Regional Seminar will cover a broad range of issues, from the socio-economic contribution of publishing in Africa, to Freedom to Publish, and the role of technology in overcoming illiteracy.

Programme highlights include elections of a new IPA President, Vice President and numerous committee members, plus scrutiny of membership applications from six national publishers associations.

The International Publishers Association, in association with the Publishers Association UK and the London Book Fair, presented the third annual IPA Education Conference on 16 April, at Olympia Conference Centre, West London.
