Library regeneration in Nairobi

The first round of funding in IPA’s Africa Publishing Innovation Fund, backed by Dubai Cares, included support for Book Bunk, the regeneration project of the Macmillan Library and 2 in Nairobi, Kenya. The two co-founders, Wanjiru Koinange and Angela Wachuka, spoke recently to CC’s Beyond the Book.
IPA invites African innovators to solve remote learning challenges amid COVID-19 pandemic outbreak

The International Publishers Association (IPA) is offering financial support for African publishing entrepreneurs to overcome the staggering impact of COVID-19 pandemic on education in 2020 and beyond.
Seven African publishing-related projects to share $170,000 from innovation fund in 2020.

Five innovative African projects have each won a $20,000 grant, while a library restoration initiative is to receive $50,000,and $20,000 will be allocated to Rural library restoration from the Africa Publishing Innovation Fund created by the International Publishers Association and development organization Dubai Cares for activities to promote literacy, book access, indigenous languages, and library restoration in Africa.
