Hachette Becomes 100th Signatory of Accessible Books Charter

On 26 September WIPO’s Accessible Books Consortium welcomed Hachette Livre as the 100th Signatory to the ABC Charter for Accessible Publishing marking an important milestone for the Consortium working to increase the number of books in accessible formats for use by hundreds of millions of people around the globe who are blind, visually impaired, or otherwise print disabled.

ED5 receive award at London Book Fair

The 2019 winners of the ABC International Excellence Award for Accessible Publishing were announced at London Book Fair with EDITORIAL 5 (ED5) of Brazil taking the publisher category and eKitabu of Kenya winning the initiative category.

The short-list for the 2019 ABC International Excellence Award in Accessible Publishing was announced on 11 February. With 3 publishers, and 5 initiatives competing for the 2 awards, it will be a tough call to pick a winner for the announcement at the London Book Fair.
