Library regeneration in Nairobi

The first round of funding in IPA’s Africa Publishing Innovation Fund, backed by Dubai Cares, included support for Book Bunk, the regeneration project of the Macmillan Library and 2 in Nairobi, Kenya. The two co-founders, Wanjiru Koinange and Angela Wachuka, spoke recently to CC’s Beyond the Book.

IPA featured in two sessions during the Guadalajara Industry Dialogue sessions looking at the Mexican and international publishing markets as well as the influence of Latin America within the IPA.

IPA’s Educational Publishers Forum at Virtual Lisbon

On 27 November, IPA held the latest virtual Educational Publishers Forum, this time ‘in’ Lisbon with presentations about the situation in Portugal, a conversation with the Head of Education at Microsoft Ireland, and presentations on the European Accessibility Act and the possible impact of Brexit on publishers in the UK.
Sustainable cities and communities – Books for Sustainable Development Goal 11 announced

On 10 November, the eleventh list of books for the UN SDG Book Club was announced. The list of titles in all six official UN languages, aimed at children aged 6-12, focuses on SDG 11 – sustainable cities and communities.
