Caribbean Publishing and the COVID-19 Pandemic

At 1pm CEST on Tuesday 7 July, IPA Vice-President, Bodour Al Qasimi talks to Latoya West-Blackwood, Chairman of the Book Industry Association of Jamaica about how the COVID-19 Pandemic has affected publishers in the region and what the future might hold.

IPA to support Nielsen in conducting an extensive survey into International Book Prize awareness and attitudes.

Nielsen Book has been commissioned to undertake an industry-wide survey to investigate the international landscape and perception of book prizes across publishing, bookselling, writing, media and academic sectors in various countries. The research is being supported by the International Publishers Association, Frankfurt Book Fair, Publishing Perspectives and Agile Ideas.

Coronavirus doesn’t stop Copyright Consultations

Despite many countries being in lockdown for a number of weeks to limit the spreading of the COVID-19 Pandemic, governments in Brazil, China, Kenya, India to name but a few have continued to publish consultations on copyright. IPA has continued to monitor and respond. 

First virtual Educational Publishers Forum meeting

IPA’s Educational Publishers Forum (EPF) held its first virtual meeting on 19 June 2020, because members were unable to travel to Istanbul as planned due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
