Following legislative change in the European Union (EU) on 2 October 2018, EU Member States can align the VAT rates for eBooks and audiobooks with physical books. A number of countries have been quick of the mark but in others publishers are campaigning hard.

Mauritanian blogger released!

Mauritanian blogger, Mohamed Cheikh Ould Mohamed Mkhaitir, was freed on 30 July following nearly two years of effective house arrest and 6 year after his initial arrest in 2014 for a Facebook post criticizing the use of religion to justify discriminatory practices.
