IPA and IBBY Sign Memorandum of Understanding

IPA used the meeting of its Literacy, Books Policy and Statistics (LIBS) Committee in Frankfurt as an opportunity to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with The International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY).
Committee Changes at IPA

The IPA’s General Assembly elected and appointed a number of new members to its Executive, Freedom to Publish and Membership Committees and a revamped program included two guest speakers: Georgian author Tamta Melashvili and WIPO Deputy Director General, Sylvie Forbin.
IPA welcomes five new members

During the IPA General Assembly, five new members were welcomed into the association including four national associations from Albania, Chile, Jamaica, Somalia and one sector specific association, the Association of University Presses.
Accidental Campaigners: Freedom to Publish Seminar

IPA held a freedom to publish seminar during Frankfurt Book Fair. Focussing on the relatives of detained publishers, the session featured Ensaf Haidar, the wife of Saudi blogger and IPA Prix Voltaire recipient, Raif Badawi.
